50 mg (0.074 mmol) of tert-butyl 5-[2-[1(RS)-[[N-[(9-fluorenyl)methoxycarbonyl]-L-leucyl]amino]propyl]-4(RS),5,5-trimethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-4-yl]-3(RS)-methylvalerate were dissolved in 1 ml of trifluoroacetic acid and 1 ml of dichloromethane. The solution was stirred at room temperature for 15 minutes and then evaporated under a vacuum. The residue was co-evaporated with toluene to give 46 mg of 5-[2-[1(RS)-[[N-[(9-fluorenyl)methoxycarbonyl]-L-leucyl]amino]propyl]-4(RS),5,5-trimethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-4-yl]-3(RS)-methylvaleric acid as an oil; MS: m/e 621 [M+H]+.
