Procedure
Using General Procedure E; 1-(2-methyl-4-trimethylsilanylethynyl-benzyl)-1H-imidazole (Intermediate 140, 140.0 mg, 0.53 mmols) in methanol (5 mL) was treated with potassium carbonate (100.0 mg, 0.72 mmol) and stirred overnight at ambient temperature. The crude alkyne (105 mg, 100%) was use d directly in the next reaction.
