953 mg 4-(5-methoxy-pyrimidin-2-yl)-piperazine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester was stirred in 16 mL 4 mol/L HCl solution in dioxane for 45 min The precipitate was filtered, washed with dioxane and dried to yield 723 mg of the desired compound.
