Procedure

860 mg of N-(tert-butoxycarbonylmethyl)-{(1R,2R)-1-methyl-2-(4-phenoxyphenyl)-4-phenylbutyl}amine obtained in Example 50, 1.04 g of 5-tert-butyl 2,2-diethyl (4R,5R)-1,3-dioxolane-2,2,4,5-tetracarboxylate obtained in Example 68, and 2.02 ml of triethylamine, were dissolved in 20 ml of chloroform, and a solution of 816 mg of 2-chloro-1,3-dimethylimidazolinium chloride in 10 ml of chloroform, was added under cooling with ice, followed by stirring at the same temperature for 1 hour. The reaction solution was poured into water and extracted with ethyl acetate. The extract solution was washed with a saturated sodium chloride aqueous solution and then, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate. The drying agent was filtered off and then, the solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (hexane/ethyl acetate=5/1) to obtain 1.45 g (yield: 95%) of the above identified compound as a colorless oily substance.
