5-Bromo-3-iodo-1-(toluene-4-sulfonyl)-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine (200 mg, 0.419 mmol), 1-methyl-4-[4-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-[1,3,2]dioxaborolan-2-yl)-benzyl]-piperazine (160 mg, 0.503 mmol) and dichlorobis(triphenylphosphine)palladium (II) (30 mg, 0.042 mmol) were combined in CH3CN (5 ml) and 1 M Na2CO3 (5 ml) and stirred at 60° C. for 2 hrs. EtOAc was added and the organic phase was washed with water, dried and evaporated. Purification by silica gel chromatography using 0-20% MeOH:DCM yielded 235 mg (104%) of the title compound.
