Reaction Steps
A solution of 23-4 (360 mg, 0.80 mmol) in MeOH (10 mL) was treated with 10% Pd/C (100 mg) and stirred under a hydrogen atmosphere for 18 h. The catalyst was removed by filtration through celite and the residue chromatographed (75% 20:1:1 EtOH/NH4OH/H2O-25% EtOAc) to afford 23-5 as a colorless glass.
