9.6 g of N-benzyloxycarbonyl-DL-isoleucine, 3.7 g of triethylamine, 150 ml of chloroform, 3.9 of ethyl chlorocarbonate and 3.7 g of 2-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole were subjected to a reaction similar to that in Example 1(i) to obtain 10.3 g (yield: 82%) of 2-(N-benzyloxycarbonyl-DL-isoleucylamino)-1,3,4-thiadiazole as white crystals having a melting point of 145°-149° C.
