Reaction Steps
Prepared by the method described in Example 49 from 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-7,8-dimethoxy-3-(2-oxopropyl)-5H-benzopyrano[3,4-c]-pyridin-5-one (49.6 g, 0.16 moles) and ethylamine (21.2 g, 0.47 moles). Recrystallization from ethyl acetate/hexane yielded the product (30.7 g) as the free base, mp 125°-127° C.
