A suspension of the product obtained in Step A (1.1 g, 2.55 mmol) in 18 ml of 1N NaOH is heated at 95° C. until a solution is obtained. The solution is allowed to return to ambient temperature, is acidified with 1N HCl and extracted (CH2Cl2). The organic phases are combined, washed (saturated NaCl), dried (MgSO4) and evaporated. The residue is triturated in Et2O; the title product precipitates out and is recovered by filtration.
