4-{[(4-Chloro-benzenesulfonyl)-((R)-5,5-dimethyl-2-oxo-azepan-3-yl)-amino]-methyl}-3-fluoro-benzoic acid methyl ester (0.52 g, 1.1 mmol) was dissolved in THF (20 ml) and treated with 1 N NaOH (2.1 ml) for 2 h. Work-up as for Example 187 yielded crude which was crystallised from acetonitrile to give 4-{[(4-chloro-benzenesulfonyl)-((R)-5,5-dimethyl-2-oxo-azepan-3-yl)-amino]-methyl}-3-fluoro-benzoic acid: 0.38 g; MS: m/e=481.1 (MH+).
