A mixture of [1-(5-tert-butyl-[1,3,4]thiadiazol-2-ylcarbamoyl)-butyl]-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (8.9 g) in dioxane (60 ml) was treated with 4 N HCl in 1,4-dioxane (20 ml). The mixture was stirred at rt overnight, then concentrated to dryness and pumped in vacuo to give the title compounds as a white solid (7.0908 g, 93%), APCI M+1=257.4
