6-[4-(2,5-Difluoro-phenyl)-oxazol-5-yl]-3-isopropyl-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyridine (5.10 g, 15 mmol) was dissolved in isopropanol (25 ml). A solution of methanesulfonic acid (1.44 g, 15 mmol) in isopropanol (15 ml) was added. The resulting slurry was stirred at room temperature for 3 hours and filtered. The cake was washed with isopropanol and dried in a vacuum oven (80° C.) for 4 hours. 6-[4-(2,5-Difluoro-phenyl)-oxazol-5-yl]-3-isopropyl-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyridine methanesulfonate was obtained as an off-white powder (6.03 g, yield 92%).
