2M Aqueous sodium hydroxide (180 μl, 0.35 mmol) was added to a suspension of 6-methoxy-7-((1-(2-methylsulphonylethyl)piperidin-4-yl)methoxy)-3-((pivaloyloxy)methyl)-3,4-dihydroquinazolin-4-one (90 mg, 0.18 mmol) in methanol (3 ml). After stirring for 2 hours at ambient temperature, the mixture was adjusted to pH10 with 2M hydrochloric acid. The volatiles were removed under vacuum and the residue was suspended in water, filtered, washed with water followed by ether and dried under vacuum at 60° C. to give 6-methoxy-7-((1-(2-methylsulphonylethyl)piperidin-4-yl)methoxy)-3,4-dihydroquinazolin-4-one (55 mg, 79%).
