A mixture of intermediate (4) (0.0161 mol) and NaN3 (0.0161 mol) in methanol (25 ml) was stirred and refluxed overnight.The product was used without further purification, yielding 2-azido-N-[2-(3-chlorobenzoyl)-4-[(4-chlorophenyl)hydroxy(1-methyl-1H-imidazol-5-yl)methyl]phenyl]-acetamide (intermediate 5).
