Procedure
Ethyl (Z)-3-amino-alpha-tert-butoxycarbonylmethoxyiminophenylacetate can be obtained in the following manner: 0.15 g of platinum dioxide is added to a solution of 2.61 g of ethyl (Z)-3-nitro-alpha-tert-butoxycarbonylmethoxyiminophenylacetate in 70 cm3 of ethanol. The suspension is stirred for 40 minutes at a temperature near to 20° C. under a hydrogen atmosphere (128 kPa). The catalyst is separated by filtration and the filtrate is concentrated to dryness under reduced pressure (2.7 kPa) to give 2.3 g of ethyl (Z)-3-amino-alpha-tert-butoxycarbonylmethoxyiminophenylacetate in the form of an oil which is used as such in the subsequent syntheses.
