Procedure
A stirred mixture of N-(3-pyridyl)-N'-cyano-O-phenylisourea (see, Example 5 for procedure) (2.62 g, 0.0110 mol), the product from Step 4 (2.00 g, 0.0110 mol), N-methylmorpholine (3.00 ml, 0.275 mol) and 1,4-dioxane (40 ml) was refluxed, under nitrogen for 4 hours and kept ambient temperature for 1 hour. The product which had precipitated from the mixture was collected by filtration, washed with tert-butyl methyl ether and crystallized from CH3CN to give 1.65 g (46%) of the titled product, m.p. 201°-202° C.
