A stirred mixture of the crude amine prepared from 5.00 g (0.0299 mol) of the product from Step 1, diphenylcyanocarbonimidate (7.20 g, 0.0302 mol) and ethylene glycol dimethyl ether (60 ml) was kept under nitrogen for 3 hours and diluted with Et20. The solid was collected by filtration, washed with Et2O and dried to give 6.26 g of the titled product.
