Procedure

The title compound was prepared from isoamyl bromide and tert-butyl mercaptan according to the method of Example 1, 86% yield, bp 55°-56° C./7 mm Hg, n20D=1.4460; 1H NMR (CDCl3) δ 0.92 (d, J=6 Hz, 6H, CH3), 1.32 (s, 9H, CH3), 1.45 (q, 2H, CH2), 1.68 (septet, 1H, CH), 2.52 (t, J =6 Hz, 2H, CH2).
