A suspension of 49.5 g (0.175 mole) of 1-cyclopropyl-1,4-dihydro-4-oxo-6,7,8-trifluoroquinoline-3-carboxylic acid, 37.3 g (0.2 mole) of 1,1-dimethylethyl (3-pyrrolidinyl)carbamate, 40.4 g (0.4 mole) of triethylamine in 1.5 l of acetonitrile was refluxed for three hours. The precipitate was removed by filtration, washed with acetonitrile, then ethyl ether, and dried in vacuo to give 75.0 g of the title compound, mp 239°-240° C.
