To a solution of 6-chloro-N-(2-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-methylpropyl)pyridazin-3-amine (5.0 g, 23 mmol, 1.0 equiv) and K2CO3 (9.4 g, 68 mmol, 3.0 equiv) in dioxane (35 mL) was added Pd(dppf)Cl2 (1.7 g, 2.3 mmol, 0.1 equiv) and 3-cyano-4-fluorophenylboronic acid (5.0 g, 30 mmol, 1.3 equiv). The mixture was stirred at 80° C. for 3 hours after which it was allowed to cool to room temperature and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was diluted with EtOAc, washed with saturated NaHCO3, dried over Na2SO4 and evaporated to dryness. The residue was purified by reverse phase HPLC using a CH3CN/water gradient to give the desired product (5.3 g, 63%).
