To N-(6-chloro-5-methylpyridin-2-yl)-1-(2,2-difluorobenzo[d][1,3]dioxol-5-yl)cyclopropanecarboxamide (0.26 g, 0.7 mmol) in 1,2-dimethoxyethane (7 mL) was added methyl 2-methoxy-5-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)nicotinate (0.25 g, 0.86 mmol), tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium (0) (42 mg, 0.04 mmol), and 2 M sodium carbonate (0.70 mL, 1.4 mmol). The reaction mixture was irradiated in the microwave at 120° C. for twenty minutes. The reaction mixture was diluted with ethyl acetate (5 mL) and washed with water (5 mL). The organics were dried over sodium sulfate and evaporated to dryness. The crude reaction mixture was purified by silica gel chromatography (eluting with 0-100% ethyl acetate in hexanes) to yield the product (0.29 g, 81%). ESI-MS m/z calc. 497.45. found 498.3 (M+1)+. Retention time 2.14 minutes.
