CF3COOH (5 mL) was slowly added to a solution of tert-butyl 4-(5-((2S,5R)-6-(benzyloxy)-7-oxo-1,6-diaza-bicyclo[3.2.1]octan-2-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl)piperidine-1-carboxylate (719 mg, 1.5 mmol) in DCM (20 mL) at 0° C. The mixture was stirred at 0° C. for 3 hrs then, the solvent was concentrated in vacuum to afford (2S,5R)-6-(benzyloxy)-2-(5-(piperidin-4-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl)-1,6-diaza-bicyclo[3.2.1]octan-7-one (988 mg) as a brown oil, which was used directly in the next step. ESI-MS (EI+, m/z): 384.1 [M+H]+.
