Procedure

Using the procedure described in Example 306A, to a solution of 4-(5-amino-3-tert-butyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)benzonitrile (350 mg, 1.45 mmol) and potassium carbonate (263 mg, 1.9 mmol) in anhydrous DCM (3 ml) was added dropwise phenyl chloroformate (0.91 ml, 7.3 mmol) as a solution in DCM (1.5 ml). The crude was purified by silica gel chromatography (DCM/EtOAc 6-50%) to afford phenyl 3-tert-butyl-1-(4-cyanophenyl)-1H-pyrazol-5-ylcarbamate (320 mg, 61%). 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3) δ 1.34 (s, 9H), 6.45 (s, 1H), 7.26-7.28 (m, 3H), 7.31-7.38 (m, 2H), 7.75-7.82 (m, 4H); LC-MS (ESI) m/z 362 (M+H)+.
