0.16 g (0.30 mmol) of the product prepared in step 11.4 is suspended in 4 mL of anhydrous dioxane, and 0.74 mL (2.95 mmol) of a 4N solution of hydrogen chloride in dioxane is added. The mixture is stirred at room temperature for 5 hours, and ether is added. The solid is drained by suction, rinsed with pentane and dried in an oven. 0.14 g of the expected product is obtained in the form of a white powder. Yield (dihydrochloride)=quantitative. m.p.=250°C. M+H+=439.
