Procedure

A solution of Example 14b (0.5 g, 1.27 mmol) in 1,4-dioxane (7 mL) was treated with hydrogen chloride solution (4 M in 1,4-dioxane, 3.2 mL, 12.7 mmol) and stirred at 90° C. for 2 hours. The reaction mixture was concentrated and then treated again with hydrogen chloride solution (4 M in 1,4-dioxane, 3.2 mL, 12.7 mmol). The mixture was heated for 2 hours at 90° C. and then concentrated to dryness to give 0.482 g (100%) of the title compound.
