150.0 mg (0.35 mmol) of tert-butyl(+/−)-cyclopentyl{4-[(4-fluoro-1-oxo-1,3-dihydro-2H-isoindol-2-yl)methyl]phenyl}acetate were initially charged in 300 μl of dichloromethane, and 515 μl of trifluoroacetic acid were added. The mixture was stirred at RT for 1 h. The reaction mixture was then concentrated on a rotary evaporator, and the residue was dried under high vacuum. Acetonitrile was added to the product, and the precipitated solid was triturated and then filtered off with suction. This gave 112.0 mg (86.1% of theory) of the target compound.
