3-Trifluoromethylbenzoyl chloride (30 mg, 0.14 mmol, CAS RN 2251-65-2) was added to a solution of methyl-(4-o-tolyl-pyridin-3-yl)-amine (20 mg, 0.10 mmol, example 1, intermediate a) and DIPEA (30 μL, 0.17 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (1 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred overnight and then loaded directly onto a silica gel column and eluted with 50% EtOAc in n-hexane to yield the desired product as a waxy solid (17 mg, 46%). MS (ESI): m/z=371.0 [M+H]+.
