Procedure
To a solution of 3,4-epoxytetrahydrofuran (57.4 g, 0.67 mol) in ethanol (344 mL) was added diallylamine (194 g, 2.00 mol). The reaction mixture was heated to 75° C. After 2 days, the reaction mixture was cooled and concentrated under reduced pressure to afford trans-4-(diprop-2-en-1-ylamino)tetrahydrofuran-3-ol. The material was used without further purification.
