Procedure

In a solution of 0.30 g of 5-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-3-(3-hydroxy-4-nitrophenyl)-5-trifluoromethyl-4,5-dihydroisoxazole in 20 mL of acetonitrile and 3 mL of water, 0.218 g of ethyl bromodifluoroacetate and 0.293 g of potassium carbonate were added, and stirred at 80° C. for 1 hour. After the completion of the reaction, the solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure, 10 mL of water was added in the residue, and extracted with ethyl acetate (20 mL×1). The organic phase was washed with water, and then dehydrated with and dried over saturated sodium chloride and then anhydrous sodium sulfate, and the solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure to obtain the crude aimed product as yellow resinous substance. The resulting product was used as such without purification for the next step.
