Procedure
To the solution of tert-butyl 2-(1-methyl-1H-indazol-5-yl)-3-oxopiperazine-1-carboxylate (10 mg) in THF (0.5 mL) at 0° C. was added borane in THF (1.0 N, 1 mL) slowly. The mixture was heated at 55° C. for 3 hours, and was cooled. The reaction was quenched with methanol (1 mL), and was stirred for 30 minutes. The mixture was diluted with ethyl acetate, and was made basic with 1 N sodium hydroxide solution. The organic phase was separated, and was washed with water and brine, and was dried with sodium sulfate. Concentration gave tert-butyl 2-(1-methyl-1H-indazol-5-yl)piperazine-1-carboxylate. LCMS-ESI+: calc'd for C17H25N4O2: 317.2 (M+H+); Found: 317.0 (M+H+).
