A solution of 1-(5-{(S)-1-[(R)-1-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-ethyl]-pyrrolidin-2-yl}-pyridin-3-yl)-1H-indole-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (I-1A-1a: 5.0 g, 11 mmol) in TFA (15 mL) was heated in a microwave tube at 100° C. for 30 minutes. The resulting mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure to give a di-TFA salt of the titled compound as a red oil (3.2 g) which was used directly in the next step without purification.
