Procedure
LiOH (240 mg, 1.2 eq.) was added to a mixture of compound 204 (3 g, 1 eq.) in EtOH/H2O (20 mL/20 mL) at room temperature. The reaction mixture was stirred at 60° C. for 3 hrs and was allowed to cooled down to room temperature. A 5% aqueous solution of citric acid was added and the mixture was extracted with EtOAc. Organic phase was dried over MgSO4, filtered, and concentrated under reduced pressure to yield compound 205 as a white solid in 88% yield. 1H NMR (CDCl3, 400 MHz) δ (ppm) 1.51 (s, 3H), 3.85 (s, 3H), 6.75 (d, J=8.75 Hz, 1H), 7.87 (d, J=8.75 Hz, 1H), 7.95 (s, 1H), 10.48 (s, 1H).
