Procedure
To a solution of (1-(2-chloropyrimidin-4-yl)piperidin-4-yl)methylcarbamate (Example 11, step i, 2.32 g, 6.73 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (30 ml) was added trifluoroacetic acid (6.0 ml, 81 mmol). After stirring for 3 h at room temperature the solvents were removed under reduced pressure to give (1-(2-chloropyrimidin-4-yl)piperidin-4-yl)methanamine 2,2,2-trifluoroacetate as a white solid (1.71 g). The crude product was used in the next step without further purification.
