Procedure

A mixture of ((S)-tert-butyl 1-(4-(4-bromo-2-cyclobutyl-1-((2-(trimethylsilyl)ethoxy)methyl)-1H-imidazol-5-yl)pyrimidin-2-ylamino)propan-2-ylcarbamate (0.27 g, 0.47 mmol) in concentrated HCl (0.14 mL) and MeOH (4 mL) was heated to 80° C. for 5 hours. The reaction mixture was allowed to cool to room temperature and concentrated to a yellow solid to afford the crude (S)—N1-(4-(4-bromo-2-cyclobutyl-1H-imidazol-5-yl)pyrimidin-2-yl)propane-1,2-diamine (0.25 g) as the HCl salt which is used in next step without purification: LCMS(m/z) 351.0 (MH+), tR=0.45 minute.
