To a solution of 4-[2-(2-isopropyl-2H-[1,2,4]triazol-3-yl)-4,5-dihydro-6-oxa-1,3a-diaza-benzo[e]azulen-8-yl]-piperidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (1.2 g, 2.51 mmol) in DCM (12 mL) was added TFA (8 mL) and the reaction mixture stirred at RT for 1 h. The reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo, the residue tirutrated in diethyl ether to give 2-(2-Isopropyl-2H-[1,2,4]triazol-3-yl)-8-piperidin-4-yl-4,5-dihydro-6-oxa-1,3a-diaza-benzo[e]azulene trifluoroacetic acid salt as a grey solid (1.34 g, 100%).
