A 25-mL round-bottomed flask was charged with 9-bromo-2-(1-isopropyl-3-methyl-1H-1,2,4-triazol-5-yl)-5,6-dihydrobenzo[f]imidazo[1,2-d][1,4]oxazepine 411 (1.0 g, 2.6 mmol), 4,4,4′,4′,5,5,5′,5′-octamethyl-2,2′-bi(1,3,2-dioxaborolane) (bispinacolato bisboronate, 0.719 g, 2.83 mmol), potassium acetate (0.76 g, 7.7 mmol) and [1,1′-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene]dichloropalladium(II) in complex with dichloromethane (1:1) (0.21 g, 0.26 mmol) under a nitrogen atmosphere. The combined mixture was diluted with dimethylsulfoxide (8.5 mL) and heated at 85° C. for 12 h. The reaction mixture was then cooled to room temperature and diluted with water and dichloromethane. The phases were partitioned and the aqueous portion was extracted thrice with dichloromethane. The organic layers were combined, dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated. The residue was purified by flash column chromatography to afford 232 as a protio-dehalogenated by-product (66 mg, 7% yield). MS (ESI+) m/z 310.2 (M+H+), calcd. 310.4. 1H NMR (500 MHz, DMSO) δ 8.41 (dd, J=8.0, 1.6 Hz, 1H), 7.89 (s, 1H), 7.33 (dd, J=11.0, 4.3 Hz, 1H), 7.16 (t, J=7.6 Hz, 1H), 7.07 (d, J=8.1 Hz, 1H), 5.83 (dt, J=13.0, 6.6 Hz, 1H), 4.51 (q, J=5.6 Hz, 4H), 2.26 (s, 3H), 1.46 (d, J=6.6 Hz, 6H)
