A mixture of tert-Butyl 9-(5-methyl-3-furyl)-2,3-dihydro-1,4-benzoxazepine-4(5H)-carboxylate (92.0 mg, 0.279 mmol), ethyl acetate (2 ml) and 4N hydrogen chloride-ethyl acetate solution (4 ml) was stirred at room temperature for 1 hr, and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was recrystallized from a mixed solvent of methanol and ether to give the desired product (60.0 mg, 81.0%) as a solid.
