To {3-[4-(4-chloro-benzoylamino)-2-phenylsulfanylmethyl-phenoxy]-4-methoxy-phenyl}-acetic acid ethyl ester (0.9 mmol) was added lithium hydroxide (0.3), H2O (5 mL), and MeOH (20 mL). The reaction was stirred at 60° C., and then worked up and purified by preparative HPLC to give the title compound.
