Reaction Steps

To a solution of the compound of Example 14b (0.054 mmol), dissolved in 14 ml of methanol, there is added 28% aqueous ammonium hydroxide solution (10 ml). The reaction mixture is stirred for 26 hours at ambient temperature. After evaporating off the solvents, the residue is purified by chromatography on silica gel (ethyl acetate/methanol: 9/1), allowing the expected product to be isolated.
