Procedure
A solution of 1.68 g (4.59 mmol) of 1-[[2-[4-(4-chlorophenyl)-4-hydroxypiperidin-1-yl]ethyl]carbamoyl]-2-oxopyrrolidine (Ia-25) and 1.05 g (5.5 mmol) of p-toluenesulfonic acid monohydrate in 75 ml of toluene was refluxed for 25 hr. using a Dean-Stark trap containing 10 g of Molecular Sieves-4A. By proceeding as in Example 67, 1.57 g of the objective compound (Ia-29) was obtained.
