Procedure
A mixture of the product of Step A (3.0 g; 10.0 mmoles) and propargylamine (5.16 g; 93.7 mmoles) in methanol (20 ml) was stirred and heated to reflux temperature under a positive pressure of nitrogen for 16 hours. The reaction mixture was evaporated under reduced pressure and the crude product was recrystallized from isopropyl alcohol with activated carbon treatment to give 2.07 g of the title compound; mp 115°-116°.
