10 g of 1-isopropyloxymethyl 1-cyclohexyl carboxylic acid dissolved in 50 cm3 of benzene were heated under reflux for 5 hours together with 15 cm3 of thionyle chloride in the presence of 0.3 cm3 of dimethylformamide.
