5-(3,4,5-Trimethoxyphenyl)-2,4-dihydro-pyrazol-3-one (k, 2 g) in dry actonitrile (10 mL) was added C-tert-Butoxy-N,N,N′,N′-tetramethyl-methanediamine (3 mL) and stirred at 35° C. The reaction was monitored by HPLC. After 36 hours, the solid was filtered and rinsed with dry acetonitrile (5 mL) and dried under nitrogen pressure to yield the title compound (1).
