A solution of 2,N-Dimethyl-4,5-diaminopyrimidine (180 mg, 1.3 mmol) and ethyl chloroacetimidate hydrochloride (310 g, 2.0 mmol) in dichloroethane (10 mL) is heated at reflux for 17 h and cooled.
