A mixture of tert-butyl 4-{[4-amino-3-(4-{[(benzyloxy)carbonyl]amino}-3-methoxyphenyl)-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidin-1-yl]methyl}-4-hydroxy-1-piperidinecarboxylate (0.1 g, 0.000017 mol) and palladium on carbon (0.01 g) in ethanol (2.5 mL) and tetrahydrofuran (2.5 mL) was stirred under atmosphere of hydrogen at room temperature for 18 hours. The mixture was filtered and additional palladium on carbon (0.01 g) was added. The mixture was stirred under atmosphere of hydrogen at room temperature for 18 hours. The mixture was filtered through celite and the solvents were removed under reduced pressure to give tert-butyl 4-{[4-amino-3-(4-amino-3-methoxyphenyl)-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidin-1-yl]methyl}-4-hydroxy-1-piperidinecarboxylate (0.08 g, 0.00017 mol).
