A mixture of 158 mg (0.48 mmol) (±)-2-[1-[2-fluoro-4-[1-hydroxy-1-methyl-ethyl]-phenyl]-ethyl]-isoindole-1,3-dione and 0.08 ml (2.4 mmol) hydrazine hydrate in 10 ml methanol was stirred at room temperature overnight. The resulting precipitate was filtered and the filtrate concentrated to give a solid. The solid was triturated with chloroform, filtered and the filtrate was then concentrated to give 110 mg (100%) oil.
