Procedure
A mixture of 5-bromo-2-chloropyrimidine (500 mg), N-Boc-ethylenediamine (496 mg), and triethylamine (1 mL) in ethanol (10 mL) was heated at 80° C. for 4 hours. The reaction was then concentrated in vacuo and the residue purified by preparative HPLC (hexanes:EtOAc; 60:40) to afford compound 10 (700 mg) as a white solid.
