480 mg (1.1 mg) of 2-(4-Chloro-phenyl)-1-[5-(5-chloro-thiophen-2-yl)-isoxazol-3-ylmethyl]-1H-imidazole-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester was dissolved in 10 ml of dioxan and 10 ml of 2 N aqueous NaOH was added. The solution was stirred at 60° C. for 3 h. The solution was poured into water and the pH was adjusted to 3 by the addition of 2 N aqueous HCl. The precipitated product was filtered off and dried. Yield: 258 mg; MS (LCMS-ES+): m/e=420.
