Treatment of 3-allyl-4′-chloro-6-fluoro-2′-methylbiphenyl-2-ol (2.0 g, 7.22 mmol) in methylene chloride (70 mL) with dichlorobis(acetonitrile)palladium (II) (0.25 g, 1.0 mmol) according to the procedure described for Example 69, Step 5 provided 1.6 g (80%) of 4′-chloro-6-fluoro-2′-methyl-3-(prop-1-enyl)biphenyl-2-ol as a colorless oil, MS (ESI) m/z 275.00 [M−H]−.
