To a solution of the (S)-2-(3-{3-[[2-chloro-3-(trifluoromethyl)benzyl](2-phenyl-propyl)amino]propoxy}-phenyl)acetic acid in ethyl ether was added HCl in diethyl ether (1.0M). The suspension was filtered and dried to give the title compound as a white solid (99%). NMR(400 MHz, CD3OD) δ: 8.0 (d, J=4.0 Hz, 1H), 7.9 (d, J=4.0 Hz, 1H), 7.7-7.3 (m, 7H), 7.1 (d, J=8.0 Hz, 1H), 6.8 (m, 2H), 4.1-3.4 (m, 11H), 2.3 (m, 2H), 1.5 (d, J=4.0 Hz, 3H).
